Attracting Money 1
Drew Rozell, Ph.D. Session Leader
Attracting Money – Class 1
Drew: Welcome to the Attracting the Money you Deserve teleclass. This is the opening session of 2. I’m Drew Rozell. The class is going to be pretty intensive and fast-paced; at the same time, feel free to jump in with any questions you have.
XXX: Is that tape going to be available to us?
Drew: Yeah, we are going to go over a lot of material and as soon as I get it set, everybody will be able to go back and listen to all the material again. Okay, let’s set up some ground rules for the call here. Leave your head behind and check your ego at the door. What we’re going to be talking about here isn’t going to be understood by the linear, rational mind. We’re going to be talking about a lot of concepts that really don’t fit with your old beliefs. I’m going to start the class by asking a simple question and I’ll ask you for a very brief answer. I’ll go in the order that you joined the call. Do you have wealth?
Lexie: Well, financial wealth or personal wealth.
Drew: I need a short answer.
Lexie: I think have more personal wealth than financial wealth.
Drew: If you were to give me a short answer, what would it be?
Lexie: Yes.
Drew: Okay, Susan, do you have wealth?
Susan: Absolutely.
Drew: Warren?
Warren: Yes, I have an abundance of wealth.
Drew: John?
John: Yes I do.
Drew: Kevin?
Kevin: Yes I do.
Drew: Bob?
Bob: Yes.
Drew: Doug, do you have wealth?
Doug: No.
Drew: Patty, do you have wealth?
Patty: Yes.
Drew: Donna, do you have wealth?
Donna: Yes.
Drew: Okay. The idea here is to see what your thinking is, what we’re differentiating. Doug is the only one out there who said he didn’t. We all have wealth; it’s all around us and it’s just a matter of shifting our conscious to experience that. All of what we’re going to be talking about and what holds us back from experiencing the wealth and abundance around us is based on belief. That’s why you have to check your ego at the door – by that I mean your rational beliefs, your mind, and the logical ways you have of looking at things. The reason is blocking the flow of wealth – the belief that you don’t deserve money, or that money is the root of all evil. If you have those beliefs, you can’t attract wealth. Does anybody know what the law of attraction is?
Doug: What you focus on, you get.
Drew: In its simplest form, like attracts like. That’s the universal law of the universe – that’s the law of attraction. That which is like unto itself is drawn. To look at where this comes about – a lot of this material you’ll be familiar with; the question is how much have you begun to integrate that into your life. We can see some of these phrases in our lexicon that reflect that – like karma, you reap what you sow, what comes around goes around, and so on. Looking for the concept of wealth, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. We see that it exists or we’re aware of it at some level and we’re really trying to increase the awareness of how things work. How are we in control of the wealth that we experience within our lives?
This notion of like attracts like is the whole basis of what we’re talking about here. One of the critical things that makes attraction a law of the universe is that it’s always at work, whether or not you’re aware of it. It’s really important to have the understanding of it so you’re not being influenced by it and ignorant of what the law says. In the field of quantum physics….
Susan: Is there a difference between beliefs and laws?
Drew: I’ll have you answer your own question.
Susan: Well, I think of science as more underlying law, but I don’t know if that’s true.
Drew: Law is something that is universal, it’s always in effect; there are rules to it and those rules can be understood and replicated. How would you think a belief differs from that.
Susan: Well, I think of a belief coming from tradition or something like that and doesn’t always hold true.
Drew: We take beliefs and operate under them as if they were the truth, but what’s really underneath those is just something we’ve learned. A lot of time that learning does come from tradition, and is passed down from one generation to the next or from experiences.
Susan: And some of that is also very cultural too.
Drew: Very much so. You can look at beliefs about money and see how they differ from culture to culture and from person to person. Those beliefs – you’re going to see how they directly relate to everything we get around money. Is that distinction clear?
Susan: Yes.
Drew: Okay, looking at quantum physics – what does this have to do with attraction? Well, it has everything to do with wealth. What we’re talking about here is being able to change your thinking and at least for me, you need some scientific evidence or something to jar your thinking and completely change your perspective. By having this evidence, that’s what it did for me. Quantum physics is the study of the building blocks of the universe. If you look at anything around you and yourself, we’ll composed of cells, which are composed of atoms, which are compose of sub-atomic particles or quanta. Everything is made out of energy when it gets small enough – when you get to the root of it. We’re all made of the same stuff, everything in the universe is. I’m not making this up. We’re all part of this same energy and we’re all part of the same whole or universal energy. When you get really, really small in this energy, nothing is really stationery.
XXX: It’s Matrix-like.
Drew: And with that movie coming out, that’s a good point. All this stuff is vibrating and giving out energy – we’re giving it out as well. Our thoughts, the thoughts that we have are also composed of this same universal energy. That’s why thoughts are important. your thoughts are real energy. Whatever thoughts you put out there, what it’s doing is arranging those sub-atomic particles into whatever you think of. Everything begins as a thought. If you look at the Empire State Building – it began as a thought. That led to the creation of what we experience as a building. We create the reality that we experience. When you think something, it matters. What you think determines how those sub-atomic particles begin to arrange themselves. Your thoughts begin to create your experiences, and that begins to create your wealth.
If you think abundance, you create the experience of abundance. If you think poverty, you create the experience of not having enough. We exist – and the idea here is that we exist in this world so we can experience as much as possible.
Warren: I heard if you think wealth, you create the experience of wealth. Is there a distinction between wealth and the experience of wealth?
Drew: Yes, I used that phrase deliberately. Everyone here right now is wealthy. We have wealth innately, and I say that the experience of wealth is that if it’s not in your life right now, you’re not choosing to experience that.
John: So we’re wealthy, yet wanting the wealth to go to Hawaii, then how do we shift our thoughts to creating enough wealth for that?
Drew: You’re dead on – if you hang with me, I think I’ll address exactly what you’re talking about. It is about our experience. I’m going to get into that very quickly – and that will be your homework as well. The idea is that abundance is all there is. Lack, not having something, is an illusion that we all buy into. That’s what we’re saying in our minds – that’s what we’ve tricked out minds into believing. Abundance is all there is; look at nature. Is nature abundant?
XXX: Absolutely.
Drew: And if you look and start to notice what’s out there – we have several people who live in a city, right? When I go to a city, me being the country person that I am, I look around at all the buildings and I’m always amazed at the abundance that exists. There are all these buildings, roads, cars, and everything – it’s just amazing how much there is and it just keeps growing. Everything I see began as a thought. Whatever you can see around you right now, it all began with a thought.
XXX: What about nature? When you’re in the desert, and when you first look around it seems like there’s nothing there but when you look further, there’s a lot there.
Drew: The only way anything truly exists is if we observe it. That’s when the probably becomes definite; otherwise, it’s just a probability. That redwood tree doesn’t exist until there’s a thought attached to that.
XXX: Because we have to process the energy and have to visualize it.
Drew: Yes! I’ve just been reading this quantum physics stuff and how it ties in – the fact that science is catching up to the spirituality is just amazing.
XXX: In other words, your reality is what you choose to perceive.
Drew: Our thoughts always create a reality; that’s what’s behind attraction. We’re deliberate creators behind our life. So, abundance all around us, here for us to experience. We just need to make that choice. Our thoughts and feelings are at the center of the attraction process, so we need to be hyper aware. We think – when someone thinks about the Empire State Building, that thinking is what makes those particles come together as what we perceive as a building. Our desires are constantly sending out vibrations. We need to identify and train ourselves to make sure we’re emanating positive vibrations. Feelings of fear attract feelings of fear. This is a universal law; it always happens.
To make the point, we’re talking about money and wealth here. This universal law can be applied to anything – whatever you want to bring into your experience. If anyone has any questions on this, now is a good time to ask.
Okay, so the attraction process – there’s a 3-step model for it.
1 – you have to ask. The more specifically you can ask, the more precisely that energy will start to arrange itself for you.
XXX: Example?
Drew: I’d like an new car. Pretty basic example, right? If I say that I want a shiny new car versus a shiny new Lexus with a silver exterior and black interior – those thoughts are then creating specifically what I want.
Donna: That happened to me. I really wanted a blue Miata and I didn’t think I could afford it. But, I went to the bank and they were having a sale on bank loans; I’m still driving that car 8 years later.
Drew: Yes! 2 – it’s given. It’s done; if you ask for it – it’s being created.
XXX: So if I say that I want a million dollars, is that not specific enough?
XXX: Yeah, but don’t we all want a million dollars?
Drew: All right, 2 things – we all want a million dollars and we all don’t have a million dollars. I’m going to come back to that phraseology.
3 – allow it. We have to allow that into our experience. In other words, you have to be a vibrational match for whatever you say you want. Let’s say you’re asking for a million dollars; that’s what your mouth is saying. What really matters is the feelings you’re putting out behind that – it’s caring what’s at the energy level. If there’s not the feeling within you, you’re going to get more of what you feel. You’ve got to make sure you’re tuning your vibrational frequency to make sure it’s in line with what you want.
The first 2 steps of the law of attraction are really easy. The tricky part is the part of allowing it – those beliefs are what you’re really putting out into the universe. They’re the dominant thought that you’ve had with you for so long that it’s hard to shake that energy. If that vibration is what you put out, it doesn’t matter what you say. You must feel wealthy in order to attract and be wealthy. You ever notice how some people have the ability to attract a lot of money? They just have that ability; they have a wealth consciousness. Those people are wealthy – they experience wealth all the time. Money has nothing to do with real wealth – it really doesn’t.
Some people, we can give some people money who are not wealth conscious and that money will be gone very quickly because they are not wealthy, they do not experience wealth. Ask, it’s given, and it’s allowed. Sound too simple?
XXX: Well, the allowing part doesn’t sound simple. There are so many obstacles in the way of it – there are so many different negative thoughts.
Drew: You know, we have around 50,000 thoughts a day and for most people, there’s not an awareness of those thoughts, of what they’re really putting out there.
XXX: Have you been able to change someone’s belief?
Drew: Yes, and I have a couple of exercises to share with you later.
XXX: What percentage of people are able to do this?
Drew: I couldn’t give you a percentage; it’s going to come down to that choice. What it comes down to is how willing you are to put aside the beliefs you have. Some people are ready and some people are not.
XXX: So it can be done? Going from one space to the other – you work with people who’ve been able to do that.
Drew: Yes. I’m talking from experience. If I looked at my life a few years ago and I look at it now and what’s shown in my life.
XXX: I think it’s really helpful to have examples of that and who may reflect our own experience with that.
Drew: Okay. This is a nice segue to where I’m going. In the beginning of class, I asked people if they had wealth and Doug came clean and said no. Does everybody here desire wealth? I would say that most people would say ‘yes’ to that question. What do you specifically desire?
XXX: To change my thinking.
Drew: Give me something specific that you desire.
XXX: I desire to be able to give up worry and concern about my bills every month, and not have to worry about how many clients I have and so on.
Drew: Okay, be more specific.
XXX: Okay, I want $10,000 a month.
Drew: Okay, who else?
XXX: I want $7,500 a month that I’m netting.
Donna: I want to go to Argentina in November.
Drew: Okay; anybody else?
Susan: I want to save money every month – I haven’t figured out how much but I will.
Drew: And why is the focus on saving?
Susan: It’ll give me peace of mind.
Drew: Okay, I’ve got a couple trick questions in there. Susan, you wanted to save money starting soon.
Susan: Yeah, like now.
Drew: When do you see that happening?
Susan: I’m thinking next month because I’m setting up everything.
Drew: What you want is peace of mind.
Susan: Yeah, I don’t want to have to worry and get slammed with things I haven’t prepared for. Saving is one way to do that.
Drew: Okay. John, when do you see $7,500 a month happening? When would you like that to happen?
John: I would like that to happen within a month.
Drew: Patty, when would you see that happening for you – that $10,000?
Patty: Within the next 6 months.
Drew: Donna, you talk about Argentina in November – do you see something happening between now and then?
Donna: Well, it’s a specific trip that I want to go on. It depends on if I have the money. .
Drew: So it’s whether you have the funds?
Donna: Yeah, right.
Drew: So, I asked the question about ‘when’ for a reason. Getting back to physics here, time is a manmade illusion; it doesn’t really exist. The way we experience it isn’t the way it’s happening in the universe. There is no past and no future; there’s really only right now – this very moment.
XXX: Okay, so why do you have time?
Drew: Because now is the only time you can create wealth; it’s not going to happen in a month or in 6 months – now is where your focus needs to be. If you say, ‘Someday, I’m going to make $20,000 a month’ – that some day never comes.
XXX: So you asked the question to get at the thinking underneath. If you want $7,500 in a month, it’s not congruent with the universe.
Drew: That’s right and that’s why I talk about experiencing wealth. You must be a vibrational match for what you’re wanting. You have to feel that right now you have to feel that you have $10,000 a month. If you only focus on what will be will never occur. If you only think about how you lack that, you’ll only attract lack . if you say ‘I really want to go to Argentina in November and I really want the funds to do that’ – what’s the feeling underneath that?
Donna: That I’m not able to do that.
Drew: Yeah, it’s ‘How am I going to do that?’ It’s not that, ‘This is happening and I deserve this and I have wealth.’ An important thing here is looking at the word of ‘wanting’ – the definition is to be without or lack, to be absent, to come short. When we’re talking about wanting, we’re communicating to the universe what you don’t want and that’s a lack. Change that word ‘want’ to desire. The definition of desire is a special wish for, a longing for, compelled to action or effort, an eager wish to obtain or enjoy. When we bring up ‘want’, the feeling underneath that is a feeling of lack.
XXX: Interesting distinction!
Drew: I think so. The idea here is to eliminate all forms of wanting.
XXX: There’s this tricky part – okay, so act abundant to be abundant, and the slippery part of my mind says to get out my credit card and start being abundant that way.
Drew: Well, one of your homework assignments is exactly that – to be wealthy. In 5 different ways, act wealthy. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to spend money but you can look at that sports car that you want – enjoy it, and feel wealthy. You can look at that real estate property that you want. You can be generous to another person and give of yourself. If you do spend money, spend it with joy – spend it happily and graciously. People with wealth consciousness spend money and enjoy it. That’s one of your homework assignments. Okay?
XXX: Can you give a couple of examples?
Drew: Okay, I cheated and did one last night. I spent money on something I wanted.
XXX: Desired!
Drew: Yeah, thank you. I desired the best one on the market. It’s a $300 bat, and I bought it and I’m so excited that I bought it. That was me spending money. Without spending money, I may just go look at a luxury car and go drive that. Does anybody else have an example?
XXX: I can see that I can go through magazines and make a collage of the perfect home I’d like to be living in.
XXX: You could go to open houses, too.
Drew: That’s the idea!
XXX: Or you could take a walk in a very wealthy neighborhood.
Drew: I’ve done that before and that makes me feel good. The idea is to act. That’s one part of your homework assignment. I’m going to give you this other exercise – again, our feeing has to match what we’re asking for. While it’s not absolutely necessary – you don’t need to know how a splinter got into your hand, it’s just more important to remove that splinter. You don’t need to know how you got those money beliefs, but from my experience understanding how I got those really helped me. Every time it came into my consciousness, I then knew where it came from.
It’s around identifying what your dominant thought is. I got this from Suze Orman; she wanted to know what her clients’ dominant beliefs were. She found it helpful to ask her clients about what their first money memory was. If you’re not sure that you have the first money memory, then you probably don’t. What we first remember and internalize around money is usually a negative thing and that belief is what carries with us through our life. This is our dominant thought around money. It doesn’t matter what you say, it’s the underlying belief that doesn’t match that. I’ll send you this list of questions to ask, but the idea is to get to this money memory. I don’t know if everybody is going to be successful, but try it. I’ll send out clearer instructions with the questions as to how to get to this money memory.
Your job is to start acting wealthy – do 5 things that make you feel wealthy and try to get this money memory. Also, there’s a change in the bridge number for the next call. All right, everybody? Thank you all and I’ll talk to you Friday morning. Take care!
